Greetings and salutations, true blue believers,

After a great deal of back and forth at the most recent Friday Watering Hole (that’s Glory Days in Centreville, brothers! Every Friday!) where only the most important business of the association is conducted, the decision was made to make some modifications to our publication schedule. We had originally thought it best to remain dark in honor of Memorial Day but, we’ve got Dave here for you with a brief President’s Message in this abbreviated edition. Blue Crew News will return with a full edition on Monday, June 9th followed by an edition on Monday, June 23rd. And for July through November, Blue Crew News will move into our summer/fall schedule where we will come to you monthly.

In closing, we’ll give you a quick peek ahead…Rick McIntosh reached out to us and offered to put his experience volunteering to assist folks with their tax returns to work for all us here in MAC/NVBUA. Navigating the tax codes as an independent contractor can present some challenges and potentially some unique withholding opportunities for 1099 reported earnings versus a more traditional W-2. Brother Rick will also return in early 2026 to advise us of any changes to the tax code to help you all prepare for the next tax season. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy your Memorial Day and I hope to see you all on a ballfield soon.

Excelsior,
Robert Fobian
