President's Message

Hi folks,

I hope you are all out there enjoying this beautiful fall season and the lack of hundred degree weather. For me, I have volleyball one night, watching the World Series the next night, Caps another night, then basketball practice followed by a trip to Patriot Park to watch friends do what they do best. Yep – it’s a busy time. I’m sure it’s a busy time for you as well with kids in school, fall sports winding down, winter sports kicking in, band concerts, travel, work, and all the other things busy adults do in the fall.

I also hope at some point you get a chance to step back and take stock of your achievements this year. Did you get your first varsity game this year? Did you do a playoff game for the first time? Were you a crew chief for the first time? Did you do a regional? How about a college game for the first time? Maybe a state game? Maybe even a state final? Did you celebrate a benchmark in umpiring? Maybe this is ten years in the association. Is it twenty? Anybody out there with thirty years in?

One more activity that I hope you can make time for is our annual banquet on Saturday, November 21st. Hopefully you received an email with the link to register.

That’s it for me. Have a great week.

Dave Maher, President NVBUA
